Tennessee Implements New Timeline for Employers to Submit Work-Related Injury Reports

Tennessee has amended its workers’ compensation law to require employers to report each accident resulting in a work-related death or personal injury to the state’s Bureau of Workers’ Compensation no later than fourteen (14) calendar days after the earlier of the date the employer is notified of the accident or the date the employer has knowledge of the accident.

Previously, employers were required to report accidents at different intervals based upon the nature of the injury.

The amended law takes effect on July 1, 2024.
