Colorado Delays Implementation of Artificial Intelligence Law

As you know, last year, Colorado passed a law relating to employers’ use of AI. The law requires, among other things, employers using a “high risk” AI system to use reasonable care to protect consumers from the risks of algorithmic discrimination, and to implement a risk management policy and program to govern the deployment of the system.

The law, as originally passed, was set to become effective in February 2026. Now, the state has delayed implementation of the law until June 30, 2026.
