As a reminder, effective November 1, 2023, Massachusetts employees became able to supplement benefits under the Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave Act (PFMLA) with accrued paid leave to receive up to 100% of wage replacement during their PFMLA-qualified leave, i.e., to make themselves whole. Prior to that, the PMFLA did not allow employees to use accrued paid leave — such as PTO, sick time, and vacation time — while receiving PFMLA benefits.
Massachusetts has now published a helpful FAQ to assist employers and employees in navigating the PFMLA. Click here for access.
