Sick and Safe Leave Policy Available for Bloomington, Minnesota Employers

Sick and safe leave is coming soon to Bloomington, Minnesota. On July 1, 2023, Bloomington employers will be required to provide up to 48 hours of sick and safe leave per calendar year to full-time, part-time, and temporary employees who work within the Bloomington City limits for 80 hours or more in a year. Employers with 5 or more employees must provide paid leave, while employers with fewer than 5 employees must provide unpaid leave.

You can access a sample policy covering all aspects of the new law here, under the “Policy Explorer” tab within the “Resources” section of our platform. The law also requires employers to display a Bloomington-specific workplace poster in a conspicuous and accessible location within each of their facilities in Bloomington. You can find the poster here.
