New Jersey Prohibits Sexual Misconduct in Dental Practice

New Jersey Regulation 23913 establishes rules that explicitly prohibit dental licensees and registrants from engaging in sexual contact with patients, soliciting sexual acts in exchange for services, discussing intimate matters unrelated to patient care, and exposing patients unnecessarily. The regulation also bans sexual harassment toward patients, co-workers, employees, students, and supervisees, as well as any other inappropriate sexual behavior. Violations constitute professional misconduct under N.J.S.A. 45:1-21.e, and licensees must report suspected breaches to the State Board of Dentistry.
