Oregon Requires Blood Donation Leave for Employees

Oregon has expanded the qualifying reasons to use leave under the state’s sick leave law to include taking leave “for blood donation that is made in connection with a voluntary program for the donation of blood that is approved or accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks or the American Red Cross.”

The amended sick leave law takes effect January 1, 2026. You can access the enacted bill here.
