Utah has increased the civil penalty amounts for Occupational Safety and Health violations, as follows:
- An increase from $13,653 to $16,131 for each cited serious violation;
- Between $11,518 (up from $9,753) and $161,323 (up from $136,532) for each cited willful violation;
- Up to $161,323 (up from $136,532) for each cited violation if the employer has previously been found to have violated the same standards, code, rule, or order; and
- After the expiration of the time permitted to an employer to correct a cited violation, the commission may assess up to $16,131 (up from $13,653) for each day the violation continues uncorrected.
